so you intentionally crippled the NG version of your game to force people to your website?

why the hell would banner ads cause your game to lag this bad?

Zanzlanz responds:

Of course not, and I'm not sure but people with ad-block seem to run it better on NG.

can't believe no one has mentioned the main gamebreaking bug

on the bottom floor of toni's house, there is no door to exit.

you simply can't progress that far into the game.

Daedalic responds:

The door at the bottom isn't needed for completing the demo.

since you do things and push things on a grid, you should also move according to the grid.

Zanzlanz responds:

Yeah it's true ;)

you have to click many times to do an action (most of the time)

when placing a mine shaft it was transparent indicating invalid locations. finally i realized it was just designed poorly by you and was able to build it.

i wasn't able to cancel mining. i had to wait till the zombies came.. huh??? why have a stop function if it does nothing.

yikes. i could play through the whole way and give you all the feedback you'd need, but you don't deserve it. you gave this game no polish whatsoever.

i'm finished. and so are you.

Guy-Unger responds:

:'(

real simple.

real quick.

i'll point out why this is stupid as hell

i went over

i picked up a battery

i went back

i clicked on something by something that looked like an RV...

now i have 3 wires and 3 terminals..

no clue what to do.

oh i see. i was supposed to click this podium thing before picking up the battery and then it shows the order, R=1, etc.

but if you happened to get the battery first

it doesn't show this

and there's no way to exit the puzzle sequence

there's nothing.. whatsoever to help you out if you do things in that order

yikes

probably bad game design

huh??

AwkwardSilenceGames responds:

This poem doesn't rhyme.

first impression: concept: awesome.

second impression (at 6/10): very clever. so far you haven't gone beyond implications, biconditionals (iff) and conjunctions/disjunctions. going much beyond that would be pretty far beyond the capability of your average gamer and i assume you want people to at least try to finish this and in a reasonable % of cases, succeed, so that was wise on your part.

third impression (at 9/10): still fun. i wasn't sure what a red herring was, but i still completed the puzzle. i think maybe you should have defined what a red herring was. it was obvious to me from the context, but it may not be to some others and that may stop them from completing the game.

fourth impression (at 10/10): i've never seen the underscores under the and/or symbols before. it wasn't necessary. was it just to make things look more complicated than they really were? 10/10 was one of the easiest puzzles in the game.

final impression: wasn't too pleased with the ending.

was still fun and a definite 5/5

tjubert responds:

Yeah, a lot of people don't like the ending. I like some of the thematic stuff - the mechnical puzzle at the end, the integration (or lack thereof) between emotion and reason, and the character's ambivalence to death. But it could have been better, I'm sure.

I experienced no lag from the NG medal popup. So please do not remove that from future projects.

More Games link didn't work.

Game over without continues is an outdated game mechanic. It has nothing to do with retro. It's just bad game design.

Music and graphics were excellent but I would have liked to see variety in the color schemes and more sound tracks.

I got to level 8 and died. If there was more variety after that, it came a bit too late for me.

unlimitary responds:

Thanks! I didn't find any sense in adding casual leveling to this game - new levels don't introduce new gameplay elements, so this is all about scoring. Honestly speaking, levels was added in the latest build of the project, it was only one single endless level before.

Anyway, I will take into account your notes if there will be a sequel.

lol screw the spikes level. i'm an awesome platformer but that level was just a pain in the ass. i quit.

MintPaw responds:

At only the first spike level. D:

ignore all the reviews about the controls. they were fine. i smashed through all levels in all four difficulties with ease.

my only complaint would be the difficulty. but the excellent ambient audio made up for that. putting you back at five stars.

HybridMind responds:

Thanks for playing! It is good to hear you were able to get through the game. It will always be the case that some players struggle with controls while others do not. The best I could do was have about 200 people play test this game during development and I was able to tune the controls as much as I could so that the majority of the players were able to have a decent time.

Glad you also liked my ambient audio!

when your logo pops up after loading, it sits there for a LONG time, prompting you to click it, thinking that will continue the process, taking you to your website which was your goal from the start.

you used a dishonest method. you tricked people to get them to your website. when someone has to resort to deception to get views, you know with 100% certainty they aren't worth your time.

Josepho responds:

It takes extra time in some computers cuz its loading part of the 3D engine, sorry..
