is there any more to this game than the first bit?
is there any more to this game than the first bit?
We are updating the game soon to be better with more interesting spawns soon. However the enemies do get faster 60 seconds in.
really cool but damn that made me dizzy when the scenes would rotate as i walked around their edges. and i play vr and rarely get motion sick at all.
Update: Hey, I just made an attempt to try to reduce motion sickness. Press M and you will hear a sound that indicates it is active, this can be toggled anytime in the game. This removes the active rotation on the house level with brief rotations sets like in the first room. This also disables small rotation rooms like the portal rooms. Let me know if this helps!
i don't see how the rotating chains are avoidable in any way.... i hit z and x to see if it like made me change color or something.
unavoidable damage is generally unforgivable in a game.
big communication error on my part, the game uses mechanics from undertale without introducing them
orange = move
blue = stay still
(Normally, none of the moves are supposed to be unavoidable)
i love the time limit on a gardening game!
it really gives the game a strong immersive feel of being absolutely horrible
re author: no prob, hope you had a great new years break!
The game was initially going to be more arcade/action oriented. It ended up being less so and the timer remains since in 48 hours for a game jam there's not really time to think everything through.
is there a reason the hitbox on the explosions is so insanely large (vastly larger than the actual graphic for it)?
I'm genuinely curious as to what your motivation is here. Sounds fascinating. What an interesting thing to do.
It ruins this game completely and instantly.
But I imagine you have some deep reason for it that could be talked about in the theoretical context of the philosophy of game design.
Please enlighten me
Thanks for the feedback!
I tried to make the explosion graphic a little bigger than the hitbox, but it appears it's not big enough.
I can certainly enlarge the graphic so it is more accurate.
EDIT: I tweaked the explosion graphic a bit, so it should be more accurate. Let me know if it solved your problem!
does it just go on and on the same?
not bad but kind of pointless without some form of progression.
We are still working on the game, this was just a small prototype, follow development or support at: https://www.jamesisbananas.com/
why have rails if you can't even land on them? and yes i tried landing on them with x pressed and with x not pressed.
you just pass right through them.
so why have them?
re author: ahh i see. yeah i don't read tutorials. if a game can't organically train the player, then more dev time should have been devoted to player training.
but i tried it out given what you said and it felt a lot better so i updated the rating.
but just a tip for the future: people generally hate tutorials.
props to you for not having a FORCED tutorial though. that's even worse than failing to adequately train the player.
You should be able to grind on rails by holding S on keyboard, or Y (or whatever the top button is) on gamepad! This is mentioned on the "How To" screen.
Unless you're using a Switch Pro Controller? In that case the grind button would be X, but sorry I haven't tested this game with that one so if it ain't working it may be a quirk in the engine.
i like the idea but the very first image i landed on wasn't very good and that's a pretty big deal for the overall presentation.
You should not judge based on first impressions. There are 72 artists and more than 210 drawings... 1 is less than 0.5% of the gallery... look at a couple more drawings... follow your favorite artists on Instagram... and as you follow artists you like and see their art... endorphins will flow through your body and you will be happier =)
Is there a way to heal?
There are deposits of ore which you can mine in order to restore HP in level 2 and beyond
cool this cuted me. i like the 90's aesthetic to the art
