this was really great. the gunplay and bullet dodging was really fun.
the jumping and platforming didn't feel very tight. but the gunplay was redeeming. the style was really funny and made it feel polished.
can't wait for final version.

Thanks! we're glad to hear that, because in our first version of the game we got some complaints that the combat was boring.

level 12 in world 1, the first one with rickety bridges is impossible. on ur way back.. u have a gap that u jump across and there are a bunch of spinning spikes.. don't really see any way to survive that part. tried it several times.
also this is a hobo bob ripoff.
On your way back stick to the ground when the spikes are coming up thus turning you around to the bottom side of the platform
i played through a dozen times and was never able to climb up a ladder.
with a bug like that i can't really justify spending any more time on this.
also i couldn't find a key for attacking the skeletons.
also, upgrades only applying to random powerups and not getting upgrade base statisitcs... really sucks and feels like shitty progression.

what is the point of freezing enemies..?
yes they graphically move slower. but they still move the same amount of squares each turn..
and they're only frozen on the turn immediately after the spell. so i can do:
cast damage, then take damage
or
cast freeze, cast damage, then take damage
same result.

Freezing is useful for enemies that can move more than one tile per turn. Freeze them while they are still further away from you, or around corners, and you'll have time to wail on them while they're trying to come close enough to harm you.

i don't like tutorials. i think the need to bombard the player with a bunch of text in order to understand how to play is bad game design.
if you can't express yourself through gameplay or at least with a simple flash of a key, then you are doing it wrong.
also, naturally, i hate the way the ninja moves. having to worry about him moving two spaces instead of one is absurd.
It is bad design. I was lazyy and just thro up text for the tutorial, You can change controls by hitting the ninja control button on the top left. And tap controls when in tight areas or trying to move one space. if you move two spaces when you want to go one, you are holding the key down for to long.
