couple things

1. having the ball move in/out when you release the mouse button is horrible. at first i just thought there was a crappy delay between clicking and action, then i realized it wasn't bad coding but bad design.

2. annoying delay in between death and starting over. a game like this should have instant restart. no waiting for a screen to draw slowly or click multiple times.

i'm going to predict your responses to these

re:1 - "bla bla bla" <- some defense of making it when you release the mouse button that will fall on deaf ears for everyone because you're just WRONG

re:2 - "oh i'm so sorry it's so hard for you to click twice and wait a couple seconds" <- that is incredibly annoying when you're dying over and over again. if you can't see this then you should play super meat boy and see how good game design pays off.

1) If you saw from previous comments, we are very much considering this. The game works on release here, but on press everywhere else. It's something we thought about when we made this version, but are now seeing we need to change it.

2) Okay. We haven't been told this before, we'll also make it a lot quicker. It's set slowly from the mobile version to allow slower devices to keep up, we never thought to change this in the flash version.

We appreciate the feedback, but you could always be a little nicer, though!

i had to quit because when i got to town and the guy lead me to the armory, i walked in and there was a guy, but clicking him did nothing and hitting space only opened up the standard menu.

if there was some key i was meant to hit to speak to him, i wasn't told. or it was told in dialog which i skipped, as is normal in games.

feels like it would have been a really good game. i can only give it a 3 in this review, but i'll save the real score for after the author response.

RockLou responds:

You make a good point actually. I will add something that would help in your situation.
The key you're supposed to press is Enter or E.

charming game, but some things about it just felt off.

the stiff animation detracted a lot. i think you could fix that fairly easily.

the art was quite nice though.

music was also reasonably fitting.

sound fx were pretty bad.

text was hard to read since it had no background. just overlayed on the scenery.

TheEnkian responds:

The animation seems to be one of the bigger complaints because of it's simplicity. Entirely fair point, it's something I'm working on improving :)

can you please explain how we were supposed to figure out to put harps in instead of sharp.

selfdefiant responds:

I always use anagrams in my games, there are 2 possible answers, in English. Sharp and Harps. Normally the anagram is much bigger and a lot more possibilities.

i really liked this. it felt slow though.

and of course i'm not a fan of the "rotate or move forward" controls.

wish we had side thrusters and just aimed with mouse

Cartoon-Electra responds:

Glad you liked it. The rocket does start off pretty sluggish..

jumping is way too floaty and slow. world rotations are ugly and sloppy and feel horrible. force us to use two hands when arrow keys or WASD by themselves would have been sufficient. force us to go back and forth between keyboard and mouse for clicking continue and going to next level.

too many sins committed.

JackAstral responds:

Good points. I'll patch the game up asap!

k this longass unskippable opening scene is a huge flaw. i just don't want to watch this. if i wanted to watch a movie or a show i'd watch a good one.

i came here to play a game.

BrutalStudio responds:

A skip button for the intro has been added. Sorry about that!

this was really great. the gunplay and bullet dodging was really fun.

the jumping and platforming didn't feel very tight. but the gunplay was redeeming. the style was really funny and made it feel polished.

can't wait for final version.

duckbridge responds:

Thanks! we're glad to hear that, because in our first version of the game we got some complaints that the combat was boring.
Yes you're right, we're also still not 100% happy with the jumping and platforming (but we're plannning to improve that).

level 12 in world 1, the first one with rickety bridges is impossible. on ur way back.. u have a gap that u jump across and there are a bunch of spinning spikes.. don't really see any way to survive that part. tried it several times.

also this is a hobo bob ripoff.

GameReclaim responds:

On your way back stick to the ground when the spikes are coming up thus turning you around to the bottom side of the platform
