i don't understand.. i was playing and i died.. and suddenly the game started over... definitely a game breaking bug that you don't just start the level over again.
(or you're actually just using that absolutely behind-the-times mechanic where you start games over as a punishment to the player for actually experimenting and learning your game)
Sorry about that, maybe it needs a better tutorial but I tried to have as many empty levels at the beginning to avoid that.
should be passive upgrades that just scale up your damage, fire rate, projectile speed, etc.
none of that and everything ability based? boring.
did you not playtest this? attacking a moving target when you move faster than it is incredibly frustrating.
controls terrible.
non-relative controls don't fix it.
you need thrusters out the sides and on the front of the ship like any actual ship would have for any type of maneuverability whatsoever.
movement and combat feel very clunky. the atmosphere is good. the graphics are terrible because the window is so tiny.
people use 4k displays. if they don't that's their own problem. you shouldn't have made it mine.
Game supports high resolution, just not on this website (for Flash games at least). Browsers still have page scaling though.
holy CRAP. the voice that kicks in when the game loads advertising your site is just an instant zero/blam from me.
i would be FAR more vicious in this review if it weren't for the fact that reviews are moderated.
Why the hell this isn't at least a solid 4 is beyond me.
Excellent game.
normal is too hard. but i still liked the game. my deaths always felt fair.
this is beyond buggy. the upgrades don't work.. and the number over my character became negative all of the sudden.

Controls are fine. This is very underrated.
Why didn't you tag it something like minivania or at least metroidvania?
