I found the sluggish movement very off putting.

the handling and art are nice.
but why on earth does the level selection screen give no indication of whether you've collected all the collectibles in a level..?
without that, earning those orbs is utterly worthless.
also (and i'm just realizing this as i'm writing this review) I'm 30 levels in and I haven't used the dash/zoom feature once since level 1. completely forgot it existed
Thats a nice idea I didnt think of putting that in the level selection because those are photons used only for more charge booster. But making a badge for all photons collected in a level seems pretty cool idea.
Earning orbs is not worthless unless you want to improve your speed and time to win the level.
That gives me idea to post a video in level 15 pro mode to see if anyone can beat my time 22.52 seconds!
That's awesome you where able to beat the whole game without charge boost. I like to see you try that in level 15 pro mode. Thank you for the awesome ideas I will work to improve.
lovely game. i didn't know there were any moves/attacks/mechanics other than left/right/Z though.
could have listed the controls in the info.
underrated imo
lovely game but full screen functionality is incomplete and buggy and i don't like how you can't jump into the ink bottle. you just get to a certain position then an animation of you jumping in takes over. this is very unpleasant.
also i don't think running out of ink should kill you. that just seems like bad design.
Thanks! I’m not sure what’s going on in your end with full screen, the only thing I noticed is that some levels have shortcuts present since you have a wider view, but I don’t see any bugs; please let me know what they are so I can fix them.
I originally had it where you can jump directly into the bottle but the splash animation looked really off depending on what angle you jumped from, so for consistency I had a set position you jump from.
I tested with a bunch of people for the running out of ink death; this was meant to emphasize the importance of using your ink efficiently especially since in most cases there wouldn't be anything else you can do besides restart when you ran out of ink. You seem to be the first person that doesn’t like this mechanic so I’ll keep that in mind in the future.
Thanks for playing and the feedback!
there are a million of these doors games on the google playstore.
they are high quality but you have to pay to unlock most of the levels and the price is too high.
it should be $1 or $2 to unlock the full game. if it were, i'd probably have given you guys upwards of $20 by now.
re studio: your response to my review contributes nothing here.
Thank you for sharing your opinion✨
very very buggy. nice idea though. please work on it and fix all the game breaking (literally hard game breaking) bugs.
lovely aesthetics but it's annoying how you run out of energy so quickly in every level... and how you have to hold 'r' to restart. why not just restart when we die..?
we've done some updates to make the battery less stressful
i solve black hole equations in my head for fun and this was accurate
was trying to remember why i didn't wishlist this during nextfest. then i got to the jumps where you have to somehow run towards the edge then suddenly switch directions, then pulse... without the momentum subtraction from the anti-direction arrow you're holding slowing you down too much.. and also jumping
it feels so HORRIBLE. ruins the whole "polished platformer" feel so much that i guarantee you, wheter you're willing to accept it or not, it was a huge design error.
re: author: i'm glad to hear that. i guess i'll put it on my wishlist on steam after all. please just clean that ability up. i have no other complaints and i'm an absolute whore for metroidvanias of any kind
Hey, thanks for honest feedback! This is definitely something we're willing to acknowledge and work on.
Internally as we're working towards a full release, we have totally taken this ability back to the drawing board and we've made some significant adjustments so it feels more useful and intuitive.
