The audio is so terribly abrasive. The mechanics feel sluggish and horrible. You barely move up the wall. It just feels bad. There's no player empowerment to make it fun.

The graphics are horrible. I'm a huge fan of pixel and voxel art styled games. But this was just ugly.

Also it's buggy. You use space to hold on or whatever but also space to restart when you die. So a few quick deaths and it bugs out. It played with the restart menu still up. Then just froze.

Also it was one of those games where the NG page stays completely blank while it's loading and then right as I click refresh it suddenly appears. I doubt that's your fault. But it was your choice to use Unity and there are different ways to compile projects and have the data stream and you chose one where it has to cache the entire file before the applet will even appear.

I didn't like your game, the first Abyss, that much but it was the exact same game here except far better in every way. At least, for sure, the handling was way better and the character was smaller relative to the field. Two factors that really hurt Abyss 2.5.

I liked Flip World more than either of these, though it wasn't without its slew of issues that should have been obvious to the programmer.

Mantis1 responds:

Yes, Flip World is better. I'm glad we can agree on that at least.

Sorry, but it's hard to take you seriously when all you do is attempt to aggravate people on the bbs. And if you were such a Unity expert you'd know that all Unity WebGL games suffer from that loading issue currently.

No idea what big bullet guns do. I don't see any big bullets flying out of my guys.

I don't like having to watch an ad to respawn my guys. Put a banner ad. Don't turn it into the crap that we have to deal with on mobile. NG is supposed to be a haven from garbage like that.

Also I would like my guys to be able to pay to upgrade another slot. Two is very limiting

grmaster responds:

We don't planned button "respawn" and any ads, but... I doubt that you click the "donate" button, if we add it. Unfortunately, game sponsors are not interested in buying these types of games.

You can pass all game without respawn.

Thanks for idea about new slots. We welcome your suggestions and ideas.

The song "Geto Boys - Damn It Feels Good To Be A Gangsta" is featured and this website derives ad revenue through content.

Deklaration responds:

Not even a video, yo.

Game froze on the third puzzle.

It got up to the green ["ABJURER" as well.]

Unless I'm missing something, I can't type, hit Z, or enter.

I was trying to skip through the text because I just wanted to solve puzzles.. so maybe I skipped through too fast?

Could you please include some instructions to tell us the rate we're allowed to skip through the text?

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

Ahh, well. I'll update my response. Seems like you're indeed not the only person experiencing issues at that spot. I went back and changed the value of one line, hopefully that'll fix the problem. Still, I don't think that the issue was huge enough to merit such a reaction :p

After I ran through the woods.. for what I guess was supposed to be the opening credits, I get to a castle or something with numbered areas. I click all over it. It zooms in on areas, zooms out, pans around. It is completely unclear how to start a level or which level to start or how to do anything.

You should rethink this.

Big time.

sharpnova sent me the following message, admitting she was too quick to judge and nicely explained herself.

"I gave this game a zero hastily. Once I figured everything out it was great. I would give it a 4.5/5. If you want to reply to my review, please include this message."

Thank you for your input, there is a message on the bottom that says you need to press the jump button to continue and it shows the current mapping for the jump button, both keyboard and game-pad.
Other than that, enter, esc, or start button on the game-pad also starts the game, the levels are not select-able, the map is just to show progress and stats.

Also I now added a touch based start button for mouse input, I think that should cover all bases.

You have a very distinct art style. I always know it's your game before I look at the author.

Guy-Unger responds:

I was just thinking, when AI becomes smarter than humans and we'd give it the task to find new scientific knowledge. Do you think it would benefit more from the tons of scientific papers we published, or it's ability to simulate experiments and gather that knowledge by it's own?

At some point I hit some key which paused the game and was never able to find a way to unpause it.

SinclairStrange responds:

enter.

You screwed up and bound smithing to the same key as striking. So even when you're at that strange structure at the start and center of the map which I assume is some kid of forge, J does nothing but striking.

This is absolutely a zero and I can't believe you'd submit this game with such a ridiculous bug.

Niborious7 responds:

J does both striking and Smithing. You have to hit stuff together to make new weapons. At the beginning you have to hit the rocks together to sharpen them, and then pick up the sharpened rock.

I think what the issue here is that I changed the game so that the new round doesn't start until you pick up the next weapon, so if you don't know to pick up a sharpened rock, nothing ever happens. I suppose I need to have a better way to introduce the player to the mechanics of the game.

To those who found this review helpful. The game does in fact work, and this is not a bug. It just doesn't have any tutorial elements, and you have to figure out what to do.

I went through all that just for her to reject it on the basis of tomatoes.

Is this really the message you're trying to send to young kids?

OrangePylon responds:

Tomatoes are dogshit, and it's time for society to wake up to that.
