Nice art but unfortunately the gameplay just wasn't fun to me. I never felt empowered by upgrades and I just found taking damage from my own boomerang too frustrating.

I like the way the cat burst out of the cake and ate the mice.
very relaxing and fun. my only complaint was that the patterns being on the robes in the closet felt a bit contrived. could have delivered those patterns in a slightly more interactive/clever way.
really nice idea but i had some gripes.
didn't like the color choice at all.
having to do levels faster to unlock other levels was a bad design decision. this just isn't that type of game. at least it shouldn't be.
why levels? why not have it be one continuous world? do you have any idea how much that changes the overall feel?
obviously it needs some ambient noise. i agree with no music. but ambient noise would be great.
needs sound effects for collision between the ball and walls and other environmental things.
the core mechanic was great and the forces and inertias/accelerations felt just right. tuning that stuff is not trivial so you've got that going for you.
the art for the UI stuff looks very... old-school-flash'ish
i'd pixelate it or something.
It freezes when I click new game.
I use chrome on a good computer.
wish it were longer. but it has a nice feel to it. i'd play more if it were longer.

Not even a video, yo.
Game froze on the third puzzle.
It got up to the green ["ABJURER" as well.]
Unless I'm missing something, I can't type, hit Z, or enter.
I was trying to skip through the text because I just wanted to solve puzzles.. so maybe I skipped through too fast?
Could you please include some instructions to tell us the rate we're allowed to skip through the text?
Ahh, well. I'll update my response. Seems like you're indeed not the only person experiencing issues at that spot. I went back and changed the value of one line, hopefully that'll fix the problem. Still, I don't think that the issue was huge enough to merit such a reaction :p
When waves start, even if I have an engine, I can't move around. I have to shoot or mash a few keys first then I can move. And in those initial seconds I might take some bad damage.
Also I don't see anything showing my money.... so I just buy modules until suddenly I can't. Which is weird. Why not show the money?
Also the art for the modules is weird. It should have transparent backgrounds instead of just white tiles.
Also the explosion sound is way too loud compared to the rest of the game's noises.
Finally, since this game is taken from Upgrade Complete's ship upgrading system, it would be nice if you'd mention it in the Author comments and in the game. (both not just one or the other)
