Several problems

The game was filled with a lot of really simple bugs that should easily have been noticed and fixed during development.

Bugs:

-The auto-turrets shoot at the corpses of your enemies.
-Upgrade text stays fixed to the menu when you switch to a different upgrade sub-menu.
-Can't switch between weapons. I had the initial laser and the blue one with the auto-component. Once I switched to that I was never able to switch back to the default laser (which is the best non-automatic weapon btw).
-You can move to the left when you're in the dream-reality state after each wave.

Just generally bad design:

-The reality patches you have to shoot are utterly pointless. They occur at the very start of the leve. You pop em then are done. What's the point?
-Terrible animation.

I could go on but I think you get the point.

This game would be passable if you had put any time at all into polish. Was this made on a really short deadline?

cool

how is this done? i'm curious.

thank the NG staff in all their typical arrogance

to answer the author's question about what gave us the idea that this was a sequel:

the idiots at NG who write the descriptions for things on the front page, described this as a sequel.

strange system

i'm not sure why you designed it so when you progress to chapter 4, it logs you out, and sends you back to chapter 1 when you load your game.

i'm sure you intended to do this.. so i'm just curious as to why? is it some kind of game design idea? (let the player get somewhere in the game then send them back to the start for no reason)

interesting idea.. but i don't think it works very well.

i also have an interesting idea.. give you a 10 but then for no reason, switch it to a zero right before i click the "Submit Review!" button.

i hope you respect my idea as much as i respect yours.

uninteresting

i wasn't very interested in the game and to be honest.. due to level 14's difficulty i turned it off and don't plan on returning.

perfect with upgrades

would be a perfect game if you could upgrade things

unplayable

no way to dodge, block, parry enemy attacks.. and hitting them has no effect on them swinging on u..

so there really is no way to avoid taking damage..

i'm sure if i played several times till i got "lucky" then i could get up to better weapons.

w/e might want to add a block feature.

also.. enemies hit you and it turns you around so you're facing away from them but you don't do the same to them.. i have to say this is a thoroughly unenjoyable game.

fun

fun.

i'm curious how you coded the clone behavior.

is each clone represented as a simple timeline of keypresses?

nice actionscripting and fun.

good art, sound, music, gameplay, story, overall style.

hope to see more from you with this level of quality.

That is all.

decent graphics and sound

this game has nice graphics and sound but too many problems to ignore.

1. no leveling up. you might lvl once if you're lucky

2. no item upgrades

3. avoiding fights.. this is just dumb. sorry. ruins the game imo

these are critical elements to rpg progression that make the genre work..

you can't even really call this an rpg.. it's some other twisted perversion of the genre that is not fun.
