ignore all the reviews about the controls. they were fine. i smashed through all levels in all four difficulties with ease.

my only complaint would be the difficulty. but the excellent ambient audio made up for that. putting you back at five stars.

HybridMind responds:

Thanks for playing! It is good to hear you were able to get through the game. It will always be the case that some players struggle with controls while others do not. The best I could do was have about 200 people play test this game during development and I was able to tune the controls as much as I could so that the majority of the players were able to have a decent time.

Glad you also liked my ambient audio!

little more explanation would be nice. the ending was abrupt and lame. just coming up with some obscure story on your own then putting bits and pieces of it into your production to give the illusion of mystery is not the way to write a compelling story.

beautifully done.

perfect. make a sequel.

when your logo pops up after loading, it sits there for a LONG time, prompting you to click it, thinking that will continue the process, taking you to your website which was your goal from the start.

you used a dishonest method. you tricked people to get them to your website. when someone has to resort to deception to get views, you know with 100% certainty they aren't worth your time.

Josepho responds:

It takes extra time in some computers cuz its loading part of the 3D engine, sorry..

weapons are too weak.
ground slam control was never explained in game.
life was meaningless since you couldn't walk through a zombie without it killing you. basically if you get into a situation where you need to let something hit you, then you're dead.

overall the difficulty level was stupid. you really had no way whatsoever to control if you survived. you'd just have to get lucky.

WITHOUT fail, everytime i'd get cornered by a bunch, i'd stomp to stun, run past them and have a new monster spawn right on the other side of them and kill me. nothing i can do to avoid that.

the graphics are great. the sound design is fine. but the balance? some of the worst i've EVER seen.

eh. not allowing us to choose how we wanted to play made the game pointless.

buy whatever weapon the game decided to give us ammo for. rather than let us buy our own ammo

(or let ammo be unlimited and let us spend that $ on upgrades for the weapons instead)

having us discard a weapon we bought in favor of a new more expensive one is simply bad game design. let us invest in a weapon.

this isn't a parody/homage as you stated. it's just a game in the same genre. which is fine. it's just that you felt unoriginal so you felt the need to try to get out of criticism by claiming it was a super meat boy parody/homage.

if you get a disk and die in that level you shouldn't still have the disk collected. you should have to beat a level with the disk to get to keep it.

the way it is now you can just suicide to grab a disk, then you have it.

i see no way to do level 1 in less than 5 seconds. i played it pretty near perfectly and was over 6 seconds every time.

also, wall jumping didn't feel quite right.

knarrenheinz responds:

I disagree with you in every possible way.

1. It is a parody. It's oriented on the original flash meat boy.
2. Losing a floppy after dying is just a pain in the ass, that's why you can suicide grab it.
3. Just because you're not fast enough for the level 1 medal doesn't mean it's impossible. Try harder!!

EDIT: Sending me angry mails doesn't help you to solve map1 ;)

that was ridiculously short... short enough to detract from the experience.

also "spark" was a lame answer to the puzzle. it should have been "light." the whole thing came off like it was supposed to rhyme.

ImpendingRiot responds:

Sorry about the length. Sorry you find "spark" to be a lame answer, but it rhymes much more than light. Spark rhymes with dark. kite rhymes with night.

Thanks for the feedback though, it's appreciated.

sometimes you'd jump to a ledge and slide over the edge. and it was just a matter of luck trying to avoid that.

i do NOT like games that give you a limited light radius. that is a weak, artificial mechanic that makes for a less enjoyable experience.

forcing us to use the mouse to start a level instead of letting us use the keyboard killed the pixel game file.

this review is OVER.
