loved it. looked, sounded, and felt great.
didn't like the end looping seamlessly to the start though.

incredibly frustrating. the dragging of the pages is just terrible. most of the time i dragged to a page far away it would just snap back to the page i was starting from. felt very annoying to click near the edge.. should have let us use keyboard.
also the puzzles.. uhm what?
i was clicking furiously all over the panel with the arm and the key and none of the buttons worked.
some of the panels did things when i clicked but in the end nothing ever amounted to much.
needs a ton of work.
why would you launch this game when you haven't implemented gold yet?
i'm on like monster level 30 and still have 0 gold.
You only get gold when you upgrade Luck.
@MysterMadman69 - yeah Zork was awesome.
These just don't capture my interest like they used to.
But the ones that do aren't like this. They're more dynamic and functional. This is more like a branching tree of decisions. The ones I like literally function as a game where you can explore an area arbitrarily and solve puzzles.
i hate everything.
...
except this game.
come here my baby. give papa a hug
really cool and unique game.. but the balance of resource acquisition is very bad.
i kicked the crap out of a couple planets, scanned, recovered an artifact and was back to square 1 resource wise. no upgrades purchased.
Thanks for playing and rating! If I understood you correctly you recovered an artifact which consumed all your money you have earned at that point, and when it was empty you were basically back at the beginning resource-wise.
I must admit that is a bit how artifacts are supposed to work, they are some kind of a risky deal since they can contain nothing or an unique bonus that can be really helpful in battle and which you couldn't get otherwise. But I'm also thinking about making them cheaper to recover, or at least to reduce the price raise with the distance to the right, because if the player is not able to recover some artifacts right from the start because there are none to be found, he is only able to recover them later at a much higher price which puts too much emphasis on luck.
couple things
1. having the ball move in/out when you release the mouse button is horrible. at first i just thought there was a crappy delay between clicking and action, then i realized it wasn't bad coding but bad design.
2. annoying delay in between death and starting over. a game like this should have instant restart. no waiting for a screen to draw slowly or click multiple times.
i'm going to predict your responses to these
re:1 - "bla bla bla" <- some defense of making it when you release the mouse button that will fall on deaf ears for everyone because you're just WRONG
re:2 - "oh i'm so sorry it's so hard for you to click twice and wait a couple seconds" <- that is incredibly annoying when you're dying over and over again. if you can't see this then you should play super meat boy and see how good game design pays off.
1) If you saw from previous comments, we are very much considering this. The game works on release here, but on press everywhere else. It's something we thought about when we made this version, but are now seeing we need to change it.
2) Okay. We haven't been told this before, we'll also make it a lot quicker. It's set slowly from the mobile version to allow slower devices to keep up, we never thought to change this in the flash version.
We appreciate the feedback, but you could always be a little nicer, though!
awesome. great art and sound effects.
music was a bit lame but overall this was sick.
i had to quit because when i got to town and the guy lead me to the armory, i walked in and there was a guy, but clicking him did nothing and hitting space only opened up the standard menu.
if there was some key i was meant to hit to speak to him, i wasn't told. or it was told in dialog which i skipped, as is normal in games.
feels like it would have been a really good game. i can only give it a 3 in this review, but i'll save the real score for after the author response.
You make a good point actually. I will add something that would help in your situation.
The key you're supposed to press is Enter or E.
