fun with one problem

i had fun and got to level 30 or so. not sure which it was. all i know is i was using the manned turret and gunning down bats, walked into the next room and a spike came up through the floor and killed me (unavoidable)

not a problem if the last checkpoint hadn't been so far back.

kind of unacceptable and i didn't feel like playing through all that again (including the room where waves and waves come at you) so i ended up not finishing.

good overall though. just a problem with level design. the engine and concept are all superb.

nice concept, could use some improvements.

it was fun. but it had some issues that could be improved

1. too easy. making columns of ships pretty much made hard difficulty incredibly easy.

2. needed upgrades. you need an upgrade system rather than just unlocking different types of ships. or at least some combination of both those mechanics.

3. prep time. it was a little annoying that you kept giving us new types of ships but there was no point where we could analyze the stats of the various ships and decide what our plan would be. if you pause the game, mousing over the ship types doesn't make their stats popup and if you do it at the end of a level, the end-level message box covers up half the stat window.

4. color. some games are stylishly done in B&W. yours wasn't. it could use some color to add some depth.

upgrades man. it's all about the upgrades. that's what flash game players love most. they're so easily implemented too.

twenty bucks?

I'm sorry. At first I was enjoying the relaxing music, sound effects, and graphics.

Then the game stopped short after just a couple minutes of play and asked me for twenty dollars.

Move that over a decimal place and you might have some buyers.

My guess is that this is an experiment in pay-to-play flash gaming. They are about to learn that no one is going to pay $20 for this type of game.

fun

it's not terribly ambitious nor does it try to be.

fun addicting camera/movement scheme. makes it a little too easy though.

either you fixed the reloading problem after death or the previous reviewers were using old versions of flash, because i didn't seem to encounter that issue.

fun

pretty fun. i beat the came fairly easily but i'd still have liked a map of some sort.

difficulty scaling sucks

i get really sick of games that have an "easy" mode that's still difficult.

logicaly "easy" should mean easy. it shouldn't simply mean "easy compared to hard"

but "easy" should DEFINITELY mean doable.

some basic problems

Here are the primary problems with the game:

the radar doesn't show which barricades are up/down.

surround sound doesn't work properly so you can't determine which barricade just fell from where the sound is coming from.

occasionally when you try to play again after death, you get a black screen and that's it. from there you can hit space to return to your weapon/rank screen, but you can never get back to the menu.

there are no upgrades to increase armor.

some of the upgrades you need to purchase are things that should have been included no matter what: being able to save/continue.

ranking up is a little slow.

not much replay value.

would have more replay value if you could go outside and enter other buildings or vehicles or something. also need more enemies and a boss.

ending was crap. just a heart beat then a congratulations screen.

if these things were fixed this would be a record setting game.

great. almost perfect

the main problem was that in most areas, the background was impossible to distinguish in terms of walkable areas and walls. you couldn't easily tell at a glance what was a closed door/wall and what was a walkable hallway.

fix that and make tab the key for map (annoying to have to look at keyboard to hit it and move hand away from controls.. why did you do that?) and you'll have a practically perfect game.

ridiculous, horrible, and unplayable

as soon as i started the level my guy was jumping and wouldn't stop. when i reloaded the flash, it continued

i'm using flash player 10.

your game is just buggy trash.

Don't play this game.

The longer you play this game, the worse you realize it is.

-the fuzziness of the graphics when the weapon is in zoom-in mode.
-the way there is no non-fuzzy non-zoomed-in version for the 2nd to last weapon
-bug? i don't know. the bazooka could only be fired once, then i had to switch weapons and switch back to use the bazooka again.
-money comes in sporadically. you'll make less on some levels than you did on previous levels which is retardedly out of synch with this genre
-too few upgrades.. you shouuld have been able to upgrade and get snipers, repairmen, etc.
-the 2nd to last weapon sucks because you can't spray. if you fire too long it's accuracy gets TERRIBLE. i tested it and sprayed for awhile then took careful aim at a regular soldier and it took it literally 12 seconds to finally hit him.
-in the instructions IN-GAME it looks like you're indicating that the left and right arrows are for switching weapons, not up-down. if i was reviewing based on your author comments then maybe i wouldn't nitpick about this. but am i? no i'm reviewing your flash submission.

all in all.. this game infuriated me, annoyed me, frustrated me, and just generally made me angry.

blamming this submission with a 0 vote will be a pleasure.
