[nyan cat my hero 2]

difficulty was nonsense. i tried baby first and died fairly quickly.

there was a very noticeable lag in between mouse movement and nyan movement.

also the art style seemed thrown together.

plus i'm not a fan of flash animations that use tiny windows. no one uses a resolution that small so why not utilize more space? too much effort to generate more/larger art assets?

this is simply riddled with bugs and bad game design choices. i'm sorry this could not be more overrated.

for what was essentially a proof of concept this was very solid. i'm not sure if i should rate this based on the standard of a complete game or a single level of an incomplete game. i've never been sure what the right way to rate these things was.

i'm going with the former. if the latter, i'm sure it would have been a 5.

[The Peacekeeper]

this was a solid 5 until i hit wave 30.

then i beat the wave and fought the boss whose thrown axes are pretty much impossible to dodge and died against him about 5 times.

barely any $ earned on wave 30 so it takes forever to grind out even a cheap upgrade.

finally i beat him and you do some stupid epic boss mode.

ok i die there. fine

but i beat wave 30 right?

wrong.

so i have to continue grinding out pennies in order to upgrade enough to handle that mode too.

couldn't just have a save point after boss.

pretty lame.

and it knocked you down to a 3.

I've never liked the madness art style. Harkens too much back to the days when flash (and the computers running it) simply couldn't handle more complex sprites.

I don't mind retro. In fact some of my favorite games are retro styled. But this is just overdone and I didn't much care for it when it started.

if you enjoy this game, go to their website and donate. even donating as little as half a euro is enough to play chapter 2. and will increase the probability of future chapters.

i hate trailing cursors. also everyone knows kim dong would eat nyan cat before it ever had a chance to fire its lasers.

i really don't like the controls. i'd much prefer to have the option to play, with one player, using the arrow keys for movement and a key with my left hand for shooting.
