the circlejerk side of NG is so cringey. but i recognize it needs to persist so that the website doesn't die so.. i guess proceed.

MrKaktus81 responds:

This is literally a joke game for someones birthday, they basically brought down the concept of NFTs to what it really is. A huge joke.

Nohshy responds:

"My intellect - the story of sharpova"

A tragic tale of a person who wound up in a cringe compilation by making such a rancid take on a humble birthday game, all in an attempt to compensate for their lack of intelligence. Truly a sad story and one that will be read for generations to warn children about the dangers of making ill-informed takes online.

not a fan of the controls. either adopt a z/x control scheme or don't. don't have part of your controls (firing) be tied to a z/x design and another intimately related part (jumping) be completely different (space bar)

i don't even get what you were thinking with that.

re author: waifu jokes. check. mcdonald's physique. check.

Just-a-ng-dummy responds:

Sorry I was busy eating a Mcdonald's meal. Yeah yeah z/x is more common and better, and sure I might add it. Now if you will excuse me I will go and do the nae nae to senpai fnf week 6

just because you developed this on a 640x480 resolution monitor doesn't mean you need to make it everyone else's problem.

Template88 responds:

i agree the ratio _is_ retarded. also fuck off and die.

HatiValcoran responds:

It has been described to me as twinkie-esque, but if I had to say, I think of it more as.. twinkie-adjacent.

You might not have noticed, but right under the controls there is a short note saying:

"MAYDAY MAYDAY, ENGINE'S BUSTED, WE CAN'T IMPLEMENT DYNAMIC GAME RESOLUTION!

-- DROP IT BEFORE YOU SINK US ALL WITH IT!

BUT CAP'N! HOW WILL OUR PLAYERS INCREASE THE GAME SIZE IF IT IS TOO SMALL FOR THEM?!

-- THEY CAN PRESS TWO BUTTONS TO ZOOM IN ON THE WEBSITE THEMSELVES PRIVATE, THEY AREN'T HALF AS STUPID AS YOU, NOW DO IT AND STEER US FOR THAT 1.5 ALPHA AT FULL SPEED!

AYE AYE CAP'N!"*
*:Dramatic reenactment.

I couldn't implement it as it broke the game so just zoom in, you silly thing.

without any way to see where your portal is going to appear before you release the mouse, this is a very frustrating game and an extremely bad implementation of your core idea.

re author/artist who responded: git gud at game dev. because you aren't. and i didn't say it was too hard. i said it was badly designed and frustrating. difficulty is something else entirely. it's something a good game dev (which you aren't) would understand.

lmao. rekt.

EvanMMO responds:

git gud

thlurp responds:

ok david

You blocked this from working externally... so now it won't be preserved by NG's external player?

That is absolute greed and disgustingness.

re: author:

The error literally says:

"UNAUTHORIZED GAME! tHIS SITE BLOCKED OUTGOING LINKS IN THIS GAME... ETC. and then tells you to visit gamedistribution.com"

So yes. You blocked this from working externally. And you did so by allowing this site locking to be part of your game's engine.

Even if that wasn't your explicit intent, you still did it.

UmutDervis responds:

Hello, dev here. This is ridiculous and false. I wrote an answer to this absurd claim, you can read it in the description now.

edit: You didn't even read or understand what I wrote, did you? Do you send this kind of messages to website owners when google shows you a message when you have no connection, too?

Also here is Tom Fulp's message about this, owner of Newgrounds, confirming what I wrote above:

don't like this at all.

it's a nice idea, executed terribly.

0x6a61686e responds:

thx

i think this would benefit from the 'idle' or 'incremental' tags

great effort. there are some issues (it's very hard to drag wizards into the crystal. you click and drag and they go with the cursor for a tiny bit and then drop off your cursor) there's no mute button.

but overall a great effort and fun

gamemakertim responds:

Thank you :) I thought the "incremental" tag could be misleading for the fans of that genre, since those games usually go on for a looong time and this one is so short.

great but i don't understand lightning lash. how do you use it?

MaryPaku responds:

I'm sorry to confuse you, I have made it more obvious visually.
Also it is explained in the description now, hope that help!

I'm finding a good way to explain it better...

great job

Kitadashi responds:

Thanks! 🍀

movement is clunky. moving diagonally is bugged and broken and causes you to sit still. you get caught on corners in ways that make no sense given where the sprite's feet are.

16 pages of text to explain a concept this simple?

re voice actor's response: 2/10 response. still better than the game.
