Did you do this all by hand just looking at the source? Or is it some kind of filter/tracing over the frames of the original.

It all looked really like.. accurate. In a good way.

Makes me want to play Wind Waker. Wii U version is sitting on my shelf just haven't gotten to it yet.

I traced over the frames, this was a way for me to get a ton of mileage, while allowing me to work on a worth-while video. This is due to the fact that the majority of these scenes have the frames drawn entirely from scratch, per frame.

I'm glad that this made you wanna play it.
You should definately take some time to play the Wii U version, you won't regret it, that's for sure!

not funny at all. so similar to all the "trying to be funny without trying to be funny" videos on NG.

this is the kind of stuff i'd expect little kids to find funny. but no one else.
